The Boston Celtics are two wins away from winning their league-best No. 18 championship.
They’re so deep and stacked with talent that even though Jayson Tatum has struggled, they still find ways to win comfortably.
That’s why former NFL QB Robert Griffin III believes the Dallas Mavericks need Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving to go absolutely ‘nuclear’ to have the slightest chance to win.
He pointed out the fact that Kristaps Porzingis was out for more than a month and was still able to drop 20 points off the bench in Game 1, and now Jrue Holiday, who’s the fifth-leading scorer in the playoffs, dropped 26 in Game 2.
The @celtics can win even when they aren’t playing their best. Game 1 Porzingis drops 20 on they head off the bench after not playing for OVER A MONTH. Game 2 Jrue Holiday, the 5th leading scorer in the postseason, goes for 26. The Mavs need LUKA AND KYRIE to go NUCLEAR to win.

Tatum’s shot hasn’t fallen in the playoffs, yet the Celtics are now 6-0 when he shoots below 40% from the floor.
Of course, he’s also getting double and triple-teams, so it’s somewhat easy to understand why he’s struggling so mightily.
Even so, the Celtics can definitely live with him being an expensive and elite decoy, as they have so much firepower everywhere and anybody can step up on any given night.
Still, this team has been in this position already, which is why they cannot afford to get comfortable.
They were also up the last time they made it to the NBA Finals, and they weren’t able to close out the deal.
They’re now more mature and experienced and have been through a lot as a group, but you can never take your foot off the gas when you have two generational talents on the other side of the court.
