The Dallas Cowboys don’t have a quarterback beyond this season.

Dak Prescott is going to be a free agent, and all signs point to the team being more than content with that decision.

And while Jerry Jones may have thought that Trey Lance was the right guy to replace him, he may have to reconsider that thought.

Lance put up some decent numbers vs. the Los Angeles Chargers, but he also threw not one, not two, but five interceptions.

Needless to say, throwing five picks is never good, but doing so against a backup defense in the preseason finale is borderline abysmal.

With that in mind, former NFL QB Robert Griffin III took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the matter, and he didn’t mince his words about it.

Watched the tape back on Trey Lance.
Trey Lance has NFL Superstar level playmaking ability with Blockbuster level decision making. If you said he was the replacement for Dak Prescott, go ahead and deactivate your account. The 5 ints were bad and showed he is in the wrong offense.

Griffin did say that Lance had superstar playmaking ability, but he put him on blast.

The former quarterback claimed that Lance’s interceptions were all bad throws, and it also showed that he’s not in the right offense for him.

Lance is just 24 years old, so he could still turn out to be good.

Then again, he’s been around the league long enough already, and he’s shown little to no signs of improvement.

Players can’t make it in this league out of sheer talent, especially not quarterbacks.

The Cowboys have more questions than answers on their hands right now.
