One of the most intriguing draft picks of Thursday night’s first round in Detroit was Denver drafting Oregon’s Bo Nix at No. 12 overall.

He was the sixth and final signal-caller taken in the first round.

Broncos fans have a right to be excited abut the pick.

Take it from ESPN analyst and former Pro Bowl quarterback Robert Griffin III.

“Denver Broncos fans should be excited to have Bo Nix,” the former Heisman Trophy winner tweeted Friday morning.

Denver Broncos fans should be EXCITED to have Bo Nix.

Griffin also broke down some interesting nuggets regarding Nix’s play and stats.

The All-Pac-12 performer had a 9-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio when pressured inside the pocket.

Additionally, he had zero turnover-worthy plays when blitzed last season.

He is one of the most experienced players coming into the NFL.

While playing at Auburn from 2019 to 2021, he got a glimpse of plenty of elite defensive players in the SEC.

While at Oregon from 2022 to 2023, he learned how to compete against great offenses.

Head coach Sean Payton has experience coaching longtime college quarterbacks too.

Before trading for Drew Brees and even before Brees himself was drafted by the San Diego Chargers, he was a three-year starter at Purdue.

So, the Broncos are getting an improved and experienced player that can shine at Mile High.

Plus, he’ll be able to get better while competing against teammates Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson in practice.

He should be a starter by the second half of the 2024 season.

If Griffin is right in his analysis, Denver will be contenders in the AFC West for years to come.
