Robert Griffin III Sends Clear Message About Bo Nix

The Denver Broncos always had a plan.

When most analysts thought they were actively trying to get J.J. McCarthy, they had their sights set on Bo Nix all along.

On paper, he looked like a perfect fit for Sean Payton’s offense.

However, scouts and fans had some doubts about him, up to the point where some even claimed he wasn’t a first-round-caliber talent.

Fast forward to today, and it seems like those people might be wrong.

Nix has been the best rookie quarterback of the preseason thus far, and while Coach Payton hasn’t announced his starting quarterback just yet, it should actually be a very simple decision.

At least, that’s how Robert Griffin III seems to feel.

The former star quarterback took to Twitter to make a blunt statement about his colleague, stating that Nix was a QB1.

Bo Nix is QB1.

The Broncos may not be very good next season, but that shouldn’t be a factor in their decision to name Nix — or anybody else — the starter.

He’s their guy of the future, or so they think, so it makes no sense to delay the inevitable.

Neither Zach Wilson nor Jarrett Stidham have proven to be starting-caliber quarterbacks, so even if Nix struggles early in his career like some rookie quarterbacks do, he should at least get an opportunity to prove whether he’s got it or not.

The job seems his to lose right now, but we still need Sean Payton to say what everybody knows: He’s the best option they have right now, and it’s not particularly close.
