Some fans and players believe that ring culture has killed NBA culture.

On the flip side, championships do matter, and sometimes, a player’s impact goes way beyond the stat sheet.

Robert Horry’s case is pretty much unique.

He played a significant role in seven NBA championships, yet his career numbers are far from impressive, which is why he’s never gotten any real Hall of Fame consideration.

That’s why Shaquille O’Neal recently shared a pic endorsing Horry to the Hall of Fame, and the pic states that former teammates Kobe Bryant, Hakeem Olajuwon, and former coach Rudy Tomjanovich also agreed.

Coming from you @SHAQ that’s my Hall Of Fame moment. Much love my brotha. https://t.co/sBXSnL86wZ

With that in mind, Horry took to Twitter to thank Shaq for the endorsement, stating that it was his Hall of Fame moment already.

One could make a case for Horry being instrumental in at least six of those championships.

He was an elite wing stopper and a solid three-point shooter, and a guy who always had a knack for knocking down huge shots in the clutch, hence his ‘Big Shot Bob’ nickname.

While he was always a role player, there’s a reason why all contending teams were always interested in his services.

His career averages of 7.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game on 42.5% shooting aren’t remarkable, but he should still be considered one of the greatest winners and Sixth Men in NBA history.
