The New York Jets haven’t had a normal season thus far.

Not only have the Jets not enjoyed much on-field success, but off-the-field reports have continued to plague the narrative around New York.

Most recently, a report surfaced from The Athletic that quarterback Zach Wilson was reluctant to re-assume the starting job after head coach Robert Saleh benched him following a Week 11 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

That rumor spread like wildfire throughout the NFL world and crescendoed when Aaron Rodgers publicly called out the Jets’ organization for the supposed leak of Wilson’s mindset.

But Saleh doesn’t sound nearly as worried as Rodgers is with the report.

“I am not concerned one bit about that report within the locker room,” Saleh told reporters Wednesday, via SNY.

Saleh added in previous statements that Wilson’s purported reluctance wasn’t known by him in his conversations with the quarterback.

Furthermore, Saleh said Wilson appeared excited to start again.

But after another poor season for Wilson – his third – this may be his last shot to prove to himself, the Jets, and the NFL that he can play in this league.

This season alone, Wilson has thrown for more than 250 passing yards just twice and only has one multi-touchdown game.

His yards per game are up on his career, but Wilson still has issues with his competition percentage and turnovers.

Wilson will get another chance, though, against the Houston Texans in Week 14.

He’ll face a defense that ranks 12th in points allowed but 26th in passing yards allowed.

It’s now or never for the former No. 2 overall pick.
