One of the most exciting parts of the preseason in the NFL is when teams hold joint practices with one another.
In plenty of ways, these periods are a lot more competitive than preseason games because everybody plays, including the starters.
New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh recently confirmed to the New York media that the team will be holding joint practices with three separate teams.
Those teams are the New York Giants, the Washington Commanders, and the Carolina Panthers (via Jets Videos).

The Jets went to Carolina last preseason to hold joint practices with the Panthers prior to their preseason game, as well.
Again, this is a really great time during the beginning of the season because every player plays.
The starters go against the starters, and the reserves are sprinkled in at certain points too.
This will be especially helpful for the Jets, who, on paper, are a real Super Bowl team.
They have their legendary quarterback finally healthy again in Aaron Rodgers, some great skill players, and a talented defense.
It’s these types of competitive environments that can really shape the identity of a roster.
For teams like Carolina, Washington, or the Giants, they are rebuilding.
It will be good for them to go up against a competitive squad with everyone playing and giving their all.
After all, it’s not like the preseason is the Super Bowl for any of the starters.
At the beginning of what could be a magical year for Gang Green, these joint practices will help the Jets get off on the right foot.
