During the NBA offseason, all the heavyweights in both conferences made a lot of headlines for moves being made to upgrade their rosters, with the Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns, and Los Angeles Lakers leading the way.
Even though the best teams in the league only got better, a lot of teams with talented young cores also improved in one way or another, with a few potentially setting up what could be a very bright future ahead.
One of those teams was the Houston Rockets, and even though all the talk heading into the offseason was about the team going after James Harden, the team chose to go in a different direction by bringing in a few veterans to help lead this young team.
Along with perhaps the biggest move for the team in hiring head coach Ime Udoka, the Rockets signed veterans Dillon Brooks and Fred VanVleet to help guide this group moving forward.
On Monday, the Rockets took a few more steps forward by securing the futures of Jalen Green, Alperen Sengun, Tari Eason, and Jabari Smith Jr., according to the team’s Twitter account.

Although the Rockets may be a couple of years away from being a force to be reckoned with in the Western Conference, they have a solid core to build around moving forward, mostly with draft picks that have hit or have the potential to hit.
It’ll be interesting to see how the team does this season, with Udoka trying to change the culture in Houston in the same way he did with the Celtics.
