What will 2023-24 bring for the Houston Rockets?
That is a question that many people are asking after the team acquired fresh talent and a brand new head coach in Ime Udoka.
Although Udoka was the Boston Celtics’ head coach for only one year, he took them all the way to the NBA Finals and showed he has some serious talent.
And newcomers like Fred VanVleet and Dillon Brooks are arriving in Houston with something to prove.
Rockets star Jae’Sean Tate told Kelly Iko of The Athletic that they are a team to watch.
“We can be very problematic for teams,” he said, via The Athletic NBA on Twitter.
Jae’Sean Tate is the longest-tenured Rocket. And he senses a change around the team with more veteran players and Ime Udoka in the mix.

Tate has only been with the Rockets for three seasons now, averaging 9.1 points and 3.8 rebounds.
Yet, even with just three seasons under his belt, Tate is considered a veteran for this team because the roster changes so much.
Tate is expecting and hoping that he can learn a few things from the seasoned pros coming to the team.
“I think I’ll be able to use them to learn even more,” he said when talking to The Athletic.
That is exactly what the front office was hoping when they signed VanVleet and Brooks.
The team has multiple young up-and-coming stars like Jalen Green, Jabari Smith Jr., Kevin Porter Jr., and Alperen Sengun.
As great as they are, they are still mostly untested and have a lot to learn and many ways to grow.
The veteran players and an experienced coach could help them.
Some people think that the Rockets will be a play-in team next season, while others believe they could be even better than that.
Others think it’ll be some time before they are either.
Tate didn’t make a solid prediction but he did warn the rest of the league that the Rockets will make some noise.
