The Houston Rockets easily blasted past the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night, beating their Western Conference rivals by a final of 135-119, powered by the unstoppable combination of Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun.
It was a chance for the Rockets to play against some of the biggest names in the game, including LeBron James.
Rockets rookie Cam Whitmore was working hard to defeat James during the game, but he still holds a special place in his heart for the four-time champion.
“That is the greatest player to ever touch a basketball,” Whitmore said about James, according to Michael Shapiro, via NBACentral.

Like many other players in the league, Whitmore is still astounded by what he sees from James, who is now 39 years old and playing in his 21st season.
During Monday’s game, James posted 23 points and 10 assists, which was impressive but still a far cry from the 36 points, 20 rebounds, and 12 assists he created just nights before against the Golden State Warriors.
As for Whitmore, he recorded 20 points and 6 rebounds during Houston’s win over LA.
So far this season, the rookie star is posting 11 points and 3.9 rebounds.
Whitmore was born in 2004, which means he is one of several young NBA players who were born after James started his professional career.
He quite literally grew up watching James and learning about basketball because of him and now he gets to play against him.
It’s quite a journey for Whitmore, who was the 20th pick in the most recent draft.
The Rockets have had an interesting and complicated season.
They experienced some substantial changes to the roster and coaching staff in the summer in hopes of becoming one of the most exciting young teams in the West.
However, they remain the 11th seed in their conference with a 22-24 record.
