The Houston Rockets have done an outstanding job of putting talent together.
They maximized their assets in the James Harden trade, and while some prospects are still a year or two away, they may have found some foundational pieces already.
That’s why, with this expected to be the weakest NBA Draft class in quite a while, they might not be all that interested in going with another youngster.
Instead, they’re likely going to trade their No. 3 overall pick, according to a report by Evan Sidery.
The Rockets are likely to make the No. 3 overall pick available in trade discussions for a win-now piece, per @wojespn.

Sidery adds that, given that they pursued him aggressively last season, it wouldn’t be shocking to see them go after Mikal Bridges again, as they want a piece that can help them win now.
The Brooklyn Nets reportedly turned down a very significant trade offer for Bridges last season, but with their evident need for picks and their shortage of talent, parting ways with the talented defender might be just what they need.
The Rockets seemed to have found a legitimate star in Alperen Sengun, and Jalen Green finally showed signs of being the efficient scorer some expected him to be.
They were significantly better in the first year under coach Ime Udoka, and perhaps they feel like they could be next season’s Oklahoma City Thunder.
