Despite losing to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 14, the Philadelphia Eagles still control their destiny because if they win out they will claim the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

The Eagles have slipped in several categories as the 2023 NFL season has gone on, and their inconsistencies came back to bite them in a pivotal game against the Cowboys.

Philadelphia has been forced into more close games this season compared to last year, though they still have an ace up their sleeve when it comes to short-yardage situations on offense.

The Eagles have mastered “The Tush Push” where multiple players line up behind Jalen Hurts and push him forward.

It’s a nearly impossible play to stop and it has caused some coaches and owners to lobby for it to be banned,

The issue has been raised all the way to the league office but Roger Goodell has yet to take a strong stance on the play via James Palmer of NFL Network.

“I’m sure we’ll have a position on that come March,” Goodell said.

Roger Goodell said he hasn’t taken a stance on the “tush push”. He wants more information about the play and hear the different perspectives on it and that’s obviously going to happen. “I’m sure we’ll have a position on that come March.”

It comes off as weak, but Goodell is at least doing the right thing by trying to gather more information before forming an opinion.

However, it feels like the play should stand as it’s simply an exploit of current rules that other teams are free to emulate.

In fact, other teams have tried their version of the play to various results though they don’t come close to the Eagles’ version.

For now, Hurts and the offense can still utilize “The Tush Push” until at least the end of the season.
