The forgettable reign of Dan Snyder is about to come to an end for the Washington Commanders, with the team on the verge of being sold to a new ownership group for over $6 billion.
Along with the team making headlines for landing the largest selling price for a franchise in league history once the deal goes through, Snyder no longer being the owner in the immediate future has sparked some reactions from people within the organization.
Head coach Ron Rivera is the latest to react to Snyder finally agreeing to sell the team and getting an ownership group to agree to his asking price.

With the organization reportedly being toxic with a work environment that is very difficult to deal with, it comes as no surprise that Rivera and others would be relieved that a new era of Commanders football is coming to Washington.
“It really seemed like a load was lifted, because everybody was on pins and needles for the last couple of months,” Rivera said. “You kind of wondered what was going to happen. . . . Then we got right back to the draft meetings. We’ll still be business as usual.” Rivera said.
At this point, few would argue that any owner or ownership group would be better than what Snyder has been over the past two decades and all the damage he’s done in those 23 years.
It’ll be interesting to see what the impact of the ownership change will be on the team and its front office as the transition is made.
