The Washington Commanders are slated to go through significant changes over the next several months.

They have a new ownership group, and based on recent reports, the team could be changing their name again.

While the team waits for further confirmation of organizational changes, their main focus is their on-field product.

To improve performance, the Commanders brought in Eric Bieniemy as offensive coordinator.

In a recent press conference, head coach Ron Rivera commented on this change, providing player feedback.

According to ESPN’s John Keim, Riveria noted Bieniemy’s intensity, saying that some players were “a little concerned.”

Rivera said some players did come to him to talk about Bieniemy’s intensity. Said they were ‘a little concerned.” Said he told them to meet with Bieniemy and they did and “as they talk and listen to him, it’s been enlightening.”

However, Rivera did send some of these players to Bieniemy, which seemed to be a worthy exercise.

After these meetings, Rivera said that the players’ feedback was “enlightening.”

Bieniemy comes to the Commanders from the Kansas City Chiefs.

After working with a Super Bowl-winning organization, Bieniemy knows what it takes to win in the NFL.

While that might be coupled with high intensity, it could be what this team needs to get back on the right track.

They finished the 2022 campaign with an 8-8-1 record, the only NFC East team to miss the playoffs.

The Commanders head into the 2023 season with a new quarterback in Sam Howell is leading the team.

Will Bieniemy’s success with Patrick Mahomes translate into a winning season for Howell and the Commanders?

Having veteran coaches can’t be bad for a roster that looks to get back on track.

Amid organizational changes, will the team be distracted or more motivated to succeed?
