Joint practices have been a controversial subject in the NFL for years.
Some believe they’re not a good idea because of all the tension they create between the players, and there are always reports of brawls and fights.
Others like them because they feel like they get the teams ramped up for the season, both physically and mentally.
That’s why Washington Commanders HC Ron Rivera made sure to let his team know that he expects them to keep their composure during their joint practices with the Baltimore Ravens, according to NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano.
“We don’t want to go around and bull***t.”
Ron Rivera says he’s talked to his team about keeping its composure and getting in good work against the Ravens in joint practices.

Notably, the Commanders are looking to make a name for themselves next season.
They have a new ownership group that has vowed to finally get them over the hump, and the addition of Eric Bieniemy to that coaching staff also makes people think that they could be much better.
Bieniemy has gotten them up to speed with his intense workout regimes, to which some players reportedly expressed their concerns.
Ironically, that may also be enough to get them ready for their joint practices, as they’ve been going through a very demanding regime ever since the beginning of training camp.
The Commanders hope that Sam Howell will turn out to be the franchise quarterback they’ve been craving since Robert Griffin III fell off, and getting him to work against one of the best defensive units in the league could be great for his development as he gets all set for his first full season as a starter in the league.
