On Wednesday, the Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins squared off in the second of their three-game series at loanDepot Park.
The Braves ultimately had a better night and came out on top, defeating the Marlins by a final score of 14-6.
With the game being so far out of reach, the Marlins decided it was time to save the bullpen and put catcher Jacob Stallings on the mound.
Stallings got a chance to face Braves superstar Ronald Acuna Jr. late in the game.
In the top of the ninth inning with two outs, the Braves slugger stepped to the plate.
However, the matchup between him and Stallings didn’t go according to plan.
As the two laughed and smiled at each other, Stallings got the better of Acuna, striking him out on three pitches.

It’s rare to see a position player strike out somebody as imposing as Acuna.
However, baseball is a strange game.
When strange things happen, they catch the eye of the viewer.
Stallings was registering 78 mph on the radar, and he managed to freeze Acuna on an 0-2 pitch to record the strikeout.
This sent the game to the bottom of the ninth inning.
It was truly an unusual moment for Acuna, but a lighthearted one as well.
In the bottom of the ninth, Atlanta relief pitcher A.J. Minter closed out the Marlins and gave the Braves the victory.
But it’s always an interesting game when it gets to the point where a position player is used on the mound.
Stallings certainly made the most of his time pitching.
