Shaquille O’Neal is well known around NBA circles as one of the best big men in league history.
He dominated opponents throughout his career, and it will be difficult to find another player who will match his intensity, strength, and size.
While he is no longer in the league, O’Neal has stayed plenty busy with other ventures.
He has dipped his toe into many different ventures, including being a DJ, a businessman, an actor, and a podcaster.
O’Neal has been successful in nearly all of these ventures, making him even more money than he did while in the league.
He has remained popular throughout the years, but a comment on a recent podcast didn’t make him very popular with Rudy Gobert.
O’Neal recently called Gobert “the worst NBA player of all time,” and while he took some time to craft a response, Gobert has now fired back.
As he mentioned on X, Gobert said it was “sad to see someone who has accomplished” so much as O’Neal, try to bring down a current NBA player.
It is sad to see someone that has accomplished as much as you did @SHAQ both in sport and business still be triggered by another man’s finances and accomplishments. I get the entertainment part but unlike other folks, you don’t need that stuff to stay relevant. https://t.co/KPHs2VmfIb

He also mentioned that O’Neal doesn’t “need that stuff to stay relevant.”
Now that Gobert has responded to O’Neal, the best thing he can do is keep his head down and focus on the task ahead of him.
Gobert and the Minnesota Timberwolves are looking to take another step in the right direction during the 2024-2025 season, hopefully making it to the Finals for the first time in franchise history.
If he’s able to help take them there, comments from people like O’Neal will surely change more positively.
