It has been a very long, very strange season for Russell Westbrook of the Los Angeles Clippers.
He has traveled from one side of Crypto.com Arena to the other, encountered the angry reaction of millions of fans, and seemingly found his rhythm as the season came to an end.
On Tuesday night, he had a message for his supporters following his team’s elimination from the playoffs.
“Just thank you. I can’t say enough how appreciative I am of people that support me through ups and down, and understanding that I’m human like anybody else,” Westbrook told the press on Tuesday night.
I asked Russell Westbrook for his message to his fans:

Westbrook thanked the people who rooted him on but also gave a shoutout to those who didn’t too, saying that both inspired him in their own ways.
For the evening, Westbrook put up 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists but it was not enough to get his short-handed Clippers over the Phoenix Suns and the series officially ended with a 4-1 record.
The last few days have been tough on the Clippers but Westbrook has tried to step up and lead.
His performance during the playoffs has many people speculating about what his role will be within the organization next year.
At the start of this season, Westbrook was dressed in purple and gold with the Los Angeles Lakers but his position on the team seemed tentative because of a lacking performance.
He got quite a bit better after becoming a bench player but no one was shocked when he was sent to the Clippers in February.
Problems still persist but Westbrook feels happier on this team, even though they fell short.
What will he be able to achieve during his first whole season for the Clippers?
