The Los Angeles Clippers have some big questions for the upcoming season.

James Harden and Paul George might or might not be back next to Kawhi Leonard in 2024.

Fortunately for them, they will have another former MVP back in the fold.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Russell Westbrook has officially decided to pick up his player option for the upcoming campaign.

The Oklahoma City Thunder legend will make just north of $4 million after averaging 11 points, five rebounds, and four dimes per game last season.

Westbrook’s continuity with the Clippers should’ve never been doubted.

The fact that he agreed to take such a significant pay cut and even volunteered himself to come off the bench upon Harden’s arrival spoke volumes about his commitment to the organization.

He’s made plenty of money throughout the course of his career, and he’s shown multiple times that he’s all about competition and grinding, even when things get difficult.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have signed a contract extension with the Thunder almost immediately after Kevin Durant left.

Now, the Clippers need to figure out the situation with George.

The word around the league is that both parties are far apart in terms of a contract extension, with George looking for a deal similar to the one Kawhi got.

Should he opt out of his contract, he would become the most coveted free agent on the market.

And even if he picks up his option, multiple teams could engage in trade talks for his services.

Perhaps Westbrook’s decision will convince him to stay.
