Russell Westbrook will most certainly leave the Los Angeles Clippers this summer but it’s not entirely clear where he will head next.
However, there seems to be a front-runner to land the nine-time All-Star.
According to Tony Jones, per Evan Sidery, Westbrook and the Denver Nuggets “maintain strong mutual interest.”
Denver is keen on adding Westbrook to their lineup but they are waiting for Westbrook to officially exit from the Clippers before they make a move.

The Nuggets envision Westbrook as someone who can fill their backup point guard void, but is that a role he’s willing to take?
Over the last few years, he has grown more comfortable as a bench player but there is no doubt he wishes to be a full-time starter again.
However, Denver doesn’t need another starter and they would much rather use him as part of the second unit.
Last season, Westbrook averaged 11.1 points, 5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists on 45.4% from the floor.
However, his three-point shooting was at its lowest point in years and he only sank 27.3% of his shots from downtown.
The season was another mixed bag for Westbrook, including plenty of good and bad at the same time.
How will he perform with the Nuggets?
The team has lost several important pieces over the last couple of seasons and they are eager to remain in contention for another championship.
Winning a title has always eluded Westbrook but he might have luck getting his first ring alongside Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and the rest of the Nuggets.
