Russell Wilson’s first year with the Denver Broncos didn’t yield the results the organization hoped.

After acquiring Wilson in a blockbuster trade, the team’s record last season was 5-12.

Many have projected the Broncos to bounce back in a big way this year, given the amount of offseason changes they have made.

However, some have doubted Wilson’s ability to lead this team due to his poor play in 2022.

Wilson seems to hear these doubts and is determined to prove he can rise above the noise.

In a recent conversation with Chris Tomasson shared via Pro Football Talk, Wilson said, “I think I’ve proven that throughout my career what I can do and I got to do it again.”

Wilson was also asked about the receipts from his doubters, saying, “You’ve got to keep those in your back pocket sometimes.”

He appears ready to approach the new season with fresh eyes, determined to turn this team around.

Wilson’s 2022 numbers were some of the lowest of his career.

He finished the season with 3,524 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

His touchdown total of 16 was the worst mark of his career, and 11 interceptions were tied for his second-most in a single season.

With all of this in mind, the Broncos will hopefully improve upon their 5-12 record from last year.

They’ll have an uphill battle to make the postseason given the overall strength of the AFC, especially within their division.

With early season games against the Las Vegas Raiders, Washington Commanders, and Miami Dolphins, Broncos fans won’t have to wait long to see how this new-look team performs.
