Recently, Ryan Clark caused quite a stir when he said that wide receiver George Pickens of the Pittsburgh Steelers is more talented than the Minnesota Vikings’ Justin Jefferson.

Many have criticized him for saying that Pickens has more talent than Jefferson, a man many feel is the best wideout in the NFL.

On Wednesday, Clark clarified his statement, saying that Jefferson is the best at his position while claiming he never said Pickens was a better player.

Agreed Jettas is the best in the game which is why I didn’t say GP was “BETTER”.

But why read and listen? https://t.co/dhdfZGw4ZR

To be fair, having plenty of talent and being the best are two different things, as there have been plenty of players who had an abundance of talent but didn’t quite pan out.

Pickens had a solid rookie season in 2022, but his numbers (801 receiving yards and four touchdowns) don’t exactly scream superstar-in-the-making.

Jefferson, on the other hand, reached 1,400 receiving yards in his rookie campaign of 2020, and he has only gotten better since.

Last year, he collected a league-high 1,809 yards and scored a total of nine touchdowns from scrimmage, earning him his third Pro-Bowl selection and his first All-Pro First-Team nod, as well as the Offensive Player of the Year award.

Some feel it is only a matter of time before Jefferson reaches the mythical 2,000-yard mark, something no wide receiver has ever done in the NFL.

His speed downfield and ability to make contested catches make him one special player.

This season, Jefferson may have to put up 2,000 receiving yards, as his Vikings lost WR2 Adam Thielen and running back Dalvin Cook this offseason, putting more of the offensive burden on his shoulders.
