Saints Defender Has Strong Message About Bijan Robinson

The Atlanta Falcons have shown they are not afraid to be aggressive in the NFL Draft.

This has been evidenced by their past three drafts, as they have taken a marquee wide receiver, tight end, and running back during this stretch of time.

Bijan Robinson is their most recent skill-position player taken in the first round, one of the most highly-touted backs in the past decade.

While many believe Robinson had a fine rookie campaign, some are saying that it could have been better.

Tyrann Mathieu was one person to indicate that the Falcons used him improperly, saying, “I didn’t think the Falcons really used him as good as they should have,” according to Around The NFL.

Mathieu might be a competitor and an in-division rival to the Falcons, but he can still recognize a talented player.

The Falcons and New Orleans Saints faced off twice in Robinson’s rookie season, and he totaled 254 all-purpose yards in those matchups.

He also scored three touchdowns between those two games.

Robinson proved himself to be an electric runner when given the opportunity, but unfortunately, those opportunities were few and far between.

Arthur Smith was identified as one of the biggest inhibitors to Robinson’s success, but he is no longer with the organization.

With any luck, a new coaching staff should help Robinson get to that next level to help fully unlock his potential.

If he turns into the player that the Falcons drafted him to be, this could be one of the best teams in the NFC next season.
