Saints HC Reacts To Michael Thomas’ Controversial Comments

The New Orleans Saints have been one of the most disappointing teams in the league this season.

Derek Carr’s arrival was supposed to take them to a whole new level, as he was expected to be an upgrade over both Andy Dalton and Jameis Winston.

That hasn’t been the case thus far, and while Pete Carmichael Jr.’s work as an offensive coordinator has been questionable, to say the least, some of the fault should also fall on the QB’s shoulders.

At least, that’s how star WR Michael Thomas seems to feel.

Thomas took to Twitter during the Saints’ Week 13 loss to call out Carr for not hitting wide receiver A.T. Perry in a play that resulted in an interception, later writing that “when your eyes don’t work you get people hurt it’s no mystery. And it’s something that needs to be studied.”

“We’ll keep that in-house,” head coach Dennis Allen said, via Patrick Magee of NOLA.com.

He has deleted his Twitter account, and Saints’ HC Dennis Allen confirmed that they would handle those comments internally, but it seems like he’s just echoing the fans’ sentiment as well.

Thomas has been out — again — for quite a while and is currently on Injured Reserve (IR), so perhaps he doesn’t have the moral high ground to talk about contributing to his team’s success at this point.

Then again, Carr’s first year in charge of his new team has been vastly disappointing.

The Saints should’ve had no trouble leading the league’s weakest division, yet they’re 5-7 and even if they turn things around late in the year and make the playoffs, they won’t be much of a threat.
