The New Orleans Saints made a significant investment in the quarterback position during the offseason.
Derek Carr has been signed to a five-year, $125 million contract, the franchise’s first big-name quarterback since Drew Brees’ departure.
With a new team comes a brand-new set of receiving options for Carr, who could be set up nicely in his first season with the team.
In a recent interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio, tight end Juwan Johnson had nothing but positive comments about Carr.
“He’s giving me a lot of Drew [Brees],” Johnson said.

This is an impressive comparison and one that might be difficult for Carr to live up to.
Brees was the Saints’ quarterback for 14 seasons and holds many of the franchise’s passing records.
He also holds a few NFL records, including the highest completion percentage in a game, the highest completion percentage in a season, and consecutive games with a touchdown pass.
Brees was also a 13-time Pro Bowler and led the league in passing yards in seven different seasons.
Can Carr find success in his new environment that’s filled with young talented players like Johnson and Chris Olave?
That remains to be seen.
For now, fans will have to wait a few months to see how the Saints’ investment materializes.
The NFC South is up for grabs now that Tom Brady is out of the division, which is a great opportunity for Carr and the Saints.
If he isn’t able to find the success that the organization and Johnson have been expecting, the team will have to go back to the drawing board.
