The New York Jets found one of the best cornerbacks in the game in Sauce Gardner.

But besides his great play on the field, those who have been around him have also been in awe of his maturity and demeanor off the field.

That’s why even though he’s already set for life with the rookie contract he signed two years ago, he’s still a man of the people and hasn’t forgotten where he came from.

With that in mind, he took to Twitter to complain about inflation and how all prices have gone up, citing gas, groceries, and even Arizonas as the things he remembered used to be cheaper.

I remember when gas prices were cheap, when groceries were cheap, when Arizonas was only a $1, when you could get four small bag of hot cheetos for $1… The good days

Gardner signed a four-year, fully guaranteed contract worth $38.7 million.

He must also have plenty of endorsement deals, and it’s just a matter of time before he gets even more money in his second contract, but that doesn’t mean he’s looking forward to just spending his way through life and misusing his wealth.

NFL athletes often get a bad reputation for their larger-than-life lifestyles and are portrayed negatively, but there are also plenty of guys who care about the less fortunate and give back to the community.

Gardner started the Sauce Gardner Family Foundation for that.

Hopefully, many more players will follow his steps and look to give a helping hand in these times of need.

That’s the kind of positive role model young kids should look up to, and props to him for getting it done on and off the field.
