It didn’t take long before Sauce Gardner proved that he could be a generational talent in the National Football League.
The Cincinnati product was a true lockdown cornerback from the very first snap he played in the league, running away with NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.
But as usually happens with superstar-caliber talents, Garnder is far from satisfied after just one year in the league.
With that in mind, he shared his thoughts and expectations about his sophomore season:
“You always have something to work on. I got a lot of things I can work on that’s going to get better coming into my second season. I had a pretty good year,” Gardner said.

That’s the kind of mindset every single team wants their star players to have.
Gardner has the potential to be one of the best players ever in his position, but he knows he has accomplished next to nothing in his career thus far.
The Jets are expected to be one of the strongest Super Bowl contenders in the league next season, and a lot of that will have to do with their stellar and promising defense.
Gardner will anchor their secondary and, hopefully, continue to build from that impressive rookie campaign in which he was able to manhandle and dominate some of the best and most impactful wideouts in the game.
But the most impressive trait about Gardner is his never-ending drive and determination to keep improving continuously.
That’s what often makes a difference between very talented players who can have somewhat long and successful careers and very talented players who can end up wearing a gold jacket and being considered as one of the best to ever lace them up.
