Cam Akers was kicked out of practice on August 16th due to his fight with Maxx Crosby.
This interaction happened at a joint practice between the Los Angeles Rams and Las Vegas Raiders.
After Akers was removed from the situation, Sean McVay explained his decision.
According to Around the NFL, “If you’re involved in it, we’re just kind of no tolerance,” McVay said.

McVay strongly believes in team policy, as evident throughout his tenure as head coach.
While Akers might have benefited from additional reps during this practice, he made his own decision by participating in this fight.
This is the second notable fight during joint practices during training camp.
Will these incidents make the NFL rethink the idea of joint practices?
Some see this as a valuable experience, getting reps against another team.
This is an opportunity for players to grow and develop their skills, especially those on the cusp of making the roster.
Others see this as a distraction, with the potential of additional fights breaking out which could lead to increased injuries.
Regardless of the future of joint practices, the Rams have bigger fish to fry.
They have to get ready for their upcoming preseason game against the Raiders and, more importantly, the regular season.
The Rams were ravaged by injuries throughout the 2022 campaign, which derailed their season.
If fully healthy, they could make a strong push as one of the NFC’s top teams.
However, they’ll have to act fast, considering the average age of their team is among the highest in the league.
