After leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference with an impressive record of 57-25, which was seven wins shy of the eventual NBA champion Boston Celtics for the best record in the league (64-18), superstar guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is already back to work on the basketball court this summer trying to win a gold medal for Canada.
Currently, Gilgeous-Alexander and his Canadian squad, which also features Jamal Murray and Dillon Brooks, are getting their team ready to compete against the best of the best on the international stage in the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.
Although Canada has a tough task ahead against some juggernauts like Team USA, Germany and France, Gilgeous-Alexander recently chimed in on the debate about what players put together would form the perfect player when it comes to scoring, passing, defense, game IQ and athleticism.
Even though Gilgeous-Alexander made a couple of obvious choices, going with Kobe Bryant for scoring and LeBron James for athleticism, the Thunder superstar had a few surprising answers, like Indiana Pacers Andrew Nembhard for passing via ClutchPoints.

Going with Pacers star Nembhard for the passing category is an interesting choice, as even Tyrese Haliburton of the Pacers would’ve made more sense than the 24-year-old, but it is the choice of the face of the Thunder.
Picking Lu Dort for defense comes as no surprise, as he’s arguably one of the best perimeter defenders in the league right now. Chris Paul isn’t surprising either, as he helped mentor Gilgesous-Alexander in Oklahoma City and clearly left an impact.
