Are the Philadelphia Eagles in trouble?

Their loss to the Seattle Seahawks was their third in as many weeks, a surprising result for one of the NFC’s best teams.

After seeing this performance, Shannon Sharpe talked to Philadelphia fans in his podcast, “Nightcap,” which he runs with Chad Johnson.

Sharpe has been voicing concerns with the Eagles throughout the year, but his concerns haven’t been taken seriously because they have been winning.

Now that the Eagles are on a losing streak, he believes he might have more of the fans’ attention.

“There are things that I see in Jalen Hurts; he’s turning the ball over more than we’ve ever seen,” Sharpe said.

“Philly fans, I got your full and undivided attention,” Sharpe said.

Is Sharpe correct?

Has Hurts taken a step back in his production, validating Sharpe’s concerns throughout the season?

Hurts has thrown 12 interceptions on the year, the fourth-highest total of any quarterback in the NFL.

He has also fumbled the ball on eight occasions, turning it over in five instances.

Sharpe is concerned that these turnover issues will persist and could be worrisome in the playoffs.

Turnovers aren’t as big of a deal against teams with less potent offenses, as they have worse chances to score a touchdown after recovering an interception or fumble.

However, mistakes will cost the Eagles against teams like the Dallas Cowboys or San Francisco 49ers, potentially knocking them out of the playoffs.

It will be interesting to see how Hurts and his coaching staff address this issue and if he can figure out how to overcome this issue.
