The Minnesota Timberwolves desperately need a win.
For that to happen, they need their best player to be their best player again.
If that means taking him away from Kyrie Irving on defense, then so be it.
A recent report claimed that Anthony Edwards had to leave the game for a couple of minutes in the fourth quarter to get some oxygen in Game 2.
And while playing at the highest level is obviously something not many people would be able to do, his youth and the trash-talking he’s done granted him some criticism.
With that in mind, Shannon Sharpe claimed that Edwards can not be this tired at 22, citing that neither the likes of Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, nor LeBron James were tired at his age.
Talking on his Nightcap show, he claimed that Edwards’ defensive job on Jamal Murray and Kyrie has taken a huge toll on his offensive game, which is why the Timberwolves might need to get someone else to guard Kyrie because they need him on the offensive end.

Granted, Edwards did a solid job of guarding Kyrie in Game 2, but they would’ve still won the game if he had given them 21 to 25 points, which is not that much to ask for a player of his caliber.
It’s fair to say that Edwards isn’t ready for this stage; he’s very young.
It’s also fair to say that the season has taken a massive physical toll on him regardless of his age.
Still, this is where superstars are made, and he’s supposed to be the new face of the league, so he’ll have to deal with this kind of pressure and exhaustion.
