The Phoenix Suns walked away with an important 107-100 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night with Kevin Durant playing for the first time in front of his new home crowd.
Durant was coming off an injury and had missed the last ten games.
He looked a little rusty with 16 points and 8 rebounds and seemed unsatisfied with his work.
He certainly wasn’t happy with his 5-of-18 record from the field, which gave him a surprisingly low 27.8% field goal percentage.
On Thursday morning, Shannon Sharpe didn’t seem too worried about Durant’s ho-hum night.
Speaking on his show Undisputed, Sharpe said that Durant is getting back into the swing of things and is “still human.”

He said that Durant was coming back to the game at the perfect time, will keep improving, and would soon look like his regular self when the team needs it most.
Fans of the Suns hope that he’s right.
Indeed, Durant hasn’t played much basketball over the last month-and-a-half due to injuries but time is of the essence for this Phoenix team.
If they aren’t able to make an impact in the postseason then there will be a lot of talk about whether the trade for Durant was worth it.
Many of the expectations for the Suns might be unfair and too large but that is what happens when an NBA team makes such a huge move.
They bet a lot on Durant and people are expecting results immediately.
The Suns are the fourth seed in the West and are going to face tough competition in the playoffs.
Durant is aware of that and is doing everything in his power to get back in a good rhythm as quickly as he can.
