The Minnesota Timberwolves will attempt to secure the seventh seed in the Western Conference on Tuesday night, facing off against the Los Angeles Lakers in a highly-anticipated play-in game.
Beating the seventh-seed Lakers would be hard enough with a full roster but the T-Wolves will be without Rudy Gobert, who is suspended for one game because he punched teammate Kyle Anderson during Sunday night’s game.
There are many opinions about the suspension but few are as loud as Shannon Sharpe’s.
“This was not a suspendible offense given your playoff life is on the line,” Sharpe said.

Sharpe gave a full-throated defense of Gobert, who he said has been unfairly called “soft” and overpaid throughout the years.
He mentioned that Gobert’s punch on Sunday is a symptom of many things, including serious team dysfunction.
He called Gobert “low-hanging fruit” and suggested that he was only benched for Tuesday’s game because his altercation with Anderson was televised and seen by so many.
Sharpe highlighted the fact that other players on the team have said they are ready to move on.
This means that Gobert’s punch wasn’t as severe as some think, according to Sharpe.
In fact, Sharpe came after Anderson more than he did Gobert, especially since Anderson allegedly hurled expletives at the injured Gobert before the fight.
There are many Minnesota fans who are upset that Gobert will be on the sidelines during Tuesday’s big game.
While most agree he shouldn’t have punched Anderson, they also think that a suspension is too harsh, especially with so much hanging in the balance.
