All season long, debate has raged about who is the best player in the NBA.
Names like Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum, and Giannis Antetokounmpo have been tossed around again and again by analysts, fans, and insiders.
Shannon Sharpe has made his choice of who is the very best: Antetokounmpo.
“For me, Giannis is the best player in the NBA,” Sharpe said on Friday’s episode of “Undisputed”.
He added: “He happens to be the best player on the best team and his numbers are even better than when he won the MVP.”
.@ShannonSharpe explains why Giannis is the best player in the NBA:
“Giannis is the first player to have a 30-10-5 season with 50% FG percentage since Wilt.” pic.twitter.com/QqJwETWlul

Sharpe also noted that Antetokounmpo is the first player to have a 30-10-5 season with 50% shooting from the field since Wilt Chamberlain.
This only furthered his argument, which co-host Skip Bayless mostly agreed with.
However, Bayless did bring up a sticking point: he said that Antetokounmpo isn’t able to shoot “a lick” and that most of his points come from in the paint and dunks.
At the start of the season, Antetokounmpo was spoken of as a potential MVP winner again.
Over time, the field for that prize has narrowed down to Jokic and Embiid.
But Antetokounmpo’s place in the league is still unquestionable, especially now that his team has secured the top spot in the East.
The Greek Freak doesn’t care if analysts and spectators think he is the best or not – he is strictly focused on getting his team back to the Finals.
After a year away from the championship, there is a good chance that he could do just that.
People will continue to debate if he’s the greatest or not but Antetokounmpo isn’t listening.
