The Los Angeles Lakers took Game 1 vs. the Golden State Warriors in convincing fashion.

And even though Stephen Curry and company manage to erase a late-game 14-point deficit, Darvin Ham has to feel great about his team’s effort and execution throughout the whole 48 minutes.

That’s why Shannon Sharpe praised them for their game-planning, as they did an outstanding job of making the most of their physicality to dominate inside.

“Anthony Davis was sensational. He has to dominate to offset the Warriors shooting. I predict more of this to come.” pic.twitter.com/Fbnb5J4zH6

Sharpe lauded Anthony Davis for staying physical and helping his team get to the free-throw line, which was perhaps the biggest story of the game.

The Warriors only went to the line six times, knocking down five shots.

The Lakers, on the other hand, made 25 out of 29 free throws, and one doesn’t have to be a basketball savant to realize how big of a deal that was.

One could argue that the refs didn’t blow the whistle in the Warriors’ favor on more than one occasion, but it’s also hard to go to the line when the other team is keeping you outside of the restricted area and preventing you from driving to the rim.

Then again, Steve Kerr is also great at those chess matches, and the Warriors don’t usually have two bad games in a row.

They know they cannot afford to fall to a 0-2 hole at home if they want to keep their hopes of winning back-to-back championships alive.

So, expect Game 2 to be an epic battle between the two greatest players of their generations and their supporting casts.
