ESPN has recently finished a massive round of layoffs, which included some of the network’s top on-air talent.

This included names such as Max Kellerman, Jeff Van Gundy, Todd McShay, and Jalen Rose, to name a few.

Despite these layoffs, the network did keep Stephen A. Smith, who is known for a boisterous personality and bold takes.

Recently, Smith highlighted that he’ll be discussing a few things on Friday, July 21st.

In response to this, former NFL tight end Shannon Sharpe had a tweet of his own, which featured several popcorn emojis, mentioning that he had free time available.

Sharpe has recently left “Undisputed,” a show that featured him and Skip Bayless discussing the latest in sporting news.

There have been rumors circulating about Sharpe and Smith, as many believe Sharpe could be joining Smith on “First Take.”

Kellerman used to be Smith’s running mate on this show, one of the most popular in sports media.

Now that Kellerman is away from the network, Sharpe could fill this role, assuming that the network will take him in.

This announcement could be made on July 21st, given the current ambiguity of both Smith and Sharpe’s tweets.

Fans will surely be in anticipation of Smith’s address, seeing if these rumors will come to fruition.
