Shaquille O’Neal has one of the biggest personalities in NBA history and is known for many on-court moments and off-court hijinks.
Speaking on the latest episode of “The Big Podcast,” O’Neal spoke about a lie that he told at the start of his career.
He said he originally claimed that iconic big man David Robinson refused to give him an autograph when Shaq was only 15 years old.
Many years later, Robinson approached O’Neal to ask about this moment and it was only then that O’Neal remembered his lie.
The incident never occurred, and Robinson never denied O’Neal an autograph, but plenty of people thought it was the truth.
It took Shaq 20 years to confess about his lie

This is the sort of stuff that O’Neal used to get up to often when he was a young man in the league.
He liked to have fun, tell stories and stir the pot.
It’s not entirely clear why he did this, aside from the fact that he was basically a kid who was having a good time.
The lie was surely entertaining when he first told it, but it eventually caught up with O’Neal.
When Robinson finally confronted O’Neal for it, the story fell apart and O’Neal had to tell the truth.
This is just one of the many stories from O’Neal’s career.
Again and again during his time in the NBA, he told stories, butted heads, and made people smile, cheer and laugh.
Now that he’s retired from playing, he can look back at it all and share these stories with fans.
Thankfully, he’s not telling any more lies about other NBA stars, at least none that we know of.
