Everyone was watching Team USA’s men’s basketball team in the recent Paris Olympics.
Well, almost everyone.
Speaking on “The Big Podcast,” NBA icon Shaquille O’Neal revealed that he didn’t pay attention to the big games.
However, even though he didn’t watch the Olympics, O’Neal did admit that he was disappointed to see Team USA struggle at times, including a shocking exhibition game against South Sudan.

O’Neal might be the only NBA star who wasn’t paying close attention to the Olympics.
It seems that everyone else was tuned in and riveted by Team USA.
In fact, NBA legend Carmelo Anthony was on hand as the Americans won the gold medal against Team France.
It is somewhat shocking to hear that O’Neal wasn’t watching the team considering he used to be a part of it.
He played for Team USA in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and the 1994 Toronto World Cup.
He won gold at both of those events.
One might imagine that O’Neal would still be supremely interested in how well Team USA is doing but he is focused on other things.
He is a very busy man and is getting ready for a jam-packed 2024-25 NBA season.
So he can’t be blamed for taking some time off and not being tuned into basketball, even on such a big stage.
Regardless of O’Neal’s attention, Team USA did very well in the Olympics.
They definitely faced some tough games and there were unexpected struggles but they walked away with the gold medal and that is ultimately all that matters.
