Millions of Americans have watched hours and hours of the “Maury” show over the years, witnessing high-stakes drama as feuding people argued about who was and was not the father of children.
But NBA icon Shaquille O’Neal did more than just watch “Maury”: He bet on it.
Speaking on “The Big Podcast,” O’Neal admitted that he and his friends used to watch the show, pause it before the big DNA test revelation, and bet money on who was the father.
He didn’t say how much money he gained or lost because of “Maury,” but it was surely a lot.

The “Maury” show was the epitome of trashy daytime TV and earned millions of loyal viewers, who loved to see the messy and dramatic revelations.
It was hard to not get caught up in the theatrics of it all.
Because O’Neal had so much disposable income, he was able to freely bet on the results of the show.
Thankfully, he was still making a lot of money via his multiple endorsements.
O’Neal isn’t just a TV commentator and popular podcaster, but he’s also the face of several big companies.
He has been in commercials for Papa John’s, Icy Hot, The General insurance company, and more.
Therefore, he had plenty of cash to spend on these unique and humorous “Maury” bets.
This story is further proof of the wild, exciting life that O’Neal has lived.
This is one of the reasons why he is considered a memorable NBA personality unlike any other.
