A lot of NBA fans are disappointed by Ben Simmons of the Brooklyn Nets.
But it’s not only fans who are bummed by what Simmons has become, some former players are upset too.
In a video clip shared by Complex, Shaquille O’Neal called Simmons a “bum” while discussing the worst NBA players of all time.
After first stating that Rudy Gobert of the Minnesota Timberwolves is the worst NBA star, O’Neal then explained his grudge against Simmons.
He said Simmons has been paid great sums of money to play baseball but hardly ever suits up for his team.
O’Neal claimed that he put his entire body and soul into basketball, resulting in long-term injuries and wear and tear on his body.
He doesn’t feel the same is true for Simmons.

O’Neal definitely has a point because Nets fans haven’t seen much of Simmons since he came to Brooklyn.
After sitting out of his last season with the Philadelphia 76ers, Simmons finally got his wish when he was sent to a new team.
But he only played in 42 games for his first season with the Nets, averaging just 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists.
He posted 6.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists in his second season with Brooklyn but only played in 15 games because of yet another injury.
Simmons is reportedly ready for the new season and seems to be in good shape.
But people have thought he was healed in the past, only to see him fall apart again.
Simmons was once the top pick in the draft and now he’s painfully unreliable.
It is no surprise that O’Neal and others are disillusioned by him.
