For years, Shaquille O’Neal was the undisputed most dominant player in the NBA.

Some might argue that he was the most dominant player this game has ever seen, even ahead of guys like Wilt Chamberlain or Michael Jordan.

The legendary big man had almost everything, and some thought he could’ve been the greatest player of all time if his work ethic had been better.

Nonetheless, even all great players have areas of improvement, and Shaq’s was obvious: He was a terrible free-throw shooter.

That’s why, in his recent appearance on The Old Man & The Three, former NBA sharpshooter JJ Redick questioned him about his struggles from the free-throw line, knowing firsthand that bad free-throw shooters work tirelessly on their shot.

Shockingly, Shaq admitted that he was actually a great shooter in practice, stating that he shot like Redick.

The big man claimed that it may have been a concentration thing.

Prime Shaq was so good that he even managed to overcome the Hack-A-Shaq strategy at times, but it was still shocking to see a player of his caliber become a liability late in close games because of that.

Humbling experience or not, the rest of the league was most definitely fortunate that this man could never figure out how to shake those shooting woes.
