Shaq Has Clear Advice For Damian Lillard

The Milwaukee Bucks might have the third-best record in the Eastern Conference right now, but they don’t feel like a championship team.

They fired Adrian Griffin because he wasn’t getting to the players, and his tactics weren’t exactly popular in the locker room, but they’re now 3-7 under Doc Rivers.

That’s why Shaquille O’Neal believes it’s time Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo take the bull by the horns.

In a talk during the All-Star Weekend, the four-time NBA champion told Lillard that they’re being ‘too nice,’ and they need to get back to the locker room and tell other teammates what they need to do in the second half of the season (via NBA TV).

“You & Giannis are being too nice. You & Giannis gotta make sure the troops get it done,” O’Neal said.

Notably, Lillard actually agreed with Shaq.

Giannis has always been a bit of a motivator.

He’s not the kind of guy who’ll get in his teammates’ faces, but he’s called them out and has made sure to lead by example more often than not.

Lillard isn’t exactly a vocal leader, and he’s the kind of guy who lets his game do the talking, but he hasn’t been at his best this season.

The Bucks have struggled defensively without Mike Budenholzer and after Jrue Holiday’s departure, and Khris Middleton has been a shell of himself since suffering that knee injury.

Still, this team has more than enough talent to turn things around in time for the playoffs.
