Fewer players have impacted the NBA in the way that Kobe Bryant did throughout his career.

He is often regarded as one of the most special players to pick up a basketball and is someone on whom thousands of kids base their style of play.

Bryant was a Los Angeles Laker for his entire career, and while he got some flak for this, he enjoyed his team and his teammates throughout the years.

One of those teammates was Shaquille O’Neal, who grew a great relationship with Bryant, even though they fought at times.

The Lakers recently unveiled a statue of Bryant, which ended up being a very emotional time for O’Neal.

He discussed this phenomenon with his team on the NBA on TNT, saying, “If I had one wish, I wish we would be talking to him right now.”

Bryant tragically died in a helicopter crash in 2020, a death that was felt across the world.

He meant so much to so many people, and for him to pass at such a young age was unexpected, which elicited a strong reaction from people around the world.

With the unveiling of the statute, Bryant will now be remembered and immortalized in Lakers history.

Putting up a statue of any person is a sign of the impact they had on a particular sport or historical event, and it is clear what Bryant meant to the city of Los Angeles.

Yes, he was a great player on the court, but his overall impact and dedication to the city were equally appreciated.
