At 23-13, the Philadelphia 76ers are sitting in third in the Eastern Conference and right in the mix as a contender for the NBA title.
The 76ers spent most of the offseason dealing with their James Harden drama, but after trading the former All-Star the team has taken off.
Philadelphia is getting a big season out of Tyrese Maxey, but the team is still anchored by Joel Embiid and he is having as good of a year as his MVP campaign last season.
Embiid has looked like a man on a mission as he looks to lead the 76ers past the second round of the playoffs for the first time in his career.
When it comes to talent, Embiid is as good as anybody in the league though his reputation won’t be cemented until he proves he can win at the highest level.
Shaquille O’Neal understands Embiid’s hurdle and challenges him to rise to the occasion via The Big Podcast.
“We know what you can do, but can you do it at the big dance… and can you take it home and close the deal?” O’Neal asked.

O’Neal harks back to advice he got from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar where the latter questioned his legitimacy because of his lack of championships.
O’Neal then goes on to tell Embiid that he should take his questioning as a sign of disrespect so it can fuel him more.
At this point, there’s nothing left for Embiid to accomplish in the league other than win a championship and it’ll be interesting to see whether or not he answers the bell.
