LeBron James is entering his 21st year in the NBA.
He currently holds the all-time record for points, a running total that continues into this season with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Some records are made to be broken, while others appear to be untouchable.
Many believe James’ scoring record will be difficult to beat, which includes Shaquille O’Neal.
When asked about this record by the NBA on ESPN crew, O’Neal said, “He wants to take it to where the record will never be broken for the next 60-70 years.”

James broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record, a number that stood for over 30 years.
Abdul-Jabbar’s numbers seemed untouchable until James came around.
James has been one of the most dominant players in NBA history, at times, scoring at will.
Playing for 21 seasons is something that very few players have ever done, and James has done so with ease.
While the past few years might not have been as dominant as years past, James isn’t getting any younger.
Father Time is still undefeated, and even though James is a great athlete, his body has started to break down more than in the past.
He has suffered injuries in the past three seasons, causing James to miss some games that he would have otherwise played when he was younger.
As James enters year 21, he has an opportunity to add to his already impressive career number of points.
How many more will he add to his total before his career concludes?
And, can James also break the all-time record for years played in the league?
