It’s no secret what Los Angeles Angels two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani can do on a baseball field.

At this point, Ohtani requires no introduction.

He has already won an MVP Award and is well on his way to potentially winning yet another one.

With yet another impressive performance on Thursday night against the Seattle Mariners, Ohtani made some important history.

Before Thursday, only two players hit a home run and recorded a stolen base while also pitching a scoreless outing since 1900.

Christy Mathewson accomplished the feat on May 23, 1905 and ultimately threw a complete-game shutout.

Pablo Sandoval did it on May 6, 2019.

Last night, Ohtani became just the third player to accomplish this feat since 1900, as Sarah Langs of MLB.com pointed out on Twitter.

OH MY GOODNESS I GET TO UPDATE MY ALL-TIME FAVE STAT!!!!!!

Shohei Ohtani is the 3rd player since 1900 with a HR, SB and scoreless pitching outing in the same game, joining:

5/6/2019 Pablo Sandoval (1 IP)
5/23/1905 Christy Mathewson (9 IP)

Given that Ohtani is a two-way player, he is more likely to accomplish a feat such as this in any game.

But he finally joined the all-exclusive club on Thursday night.

He threw four scoreless innings against the Mariners in the series opener in Anaheim.

The two-way star also hit his 40th home run and managed to swipe a bag.

This is certainly an impressive feat that was accomplished by Ohtani last night.

Ultimately, it comes as no surprise to fans and pundits.

However, it is interesting to note that he is only the third player to have accomplished this feat since the 1900 season.

It took just four years for Ohtani to join this all-exclusive club, and he did it while in the midst of yet another MVP-caliber season.
