Bronny James of the Los Angeles Lakers has now participated in three Summer League games, averaging 26 minutes per game and going 6-of-26 from the field and 0-of-12 from the three-point line.

Those numbers leave much to be desired, and Skip Bayless commented about James’ performances on Monday’s “Undisputed.”

Bayless said that James has not been playing as hard as he could during the Summer League, both offensively and defensively.

He still believes James has what it takes to be a great NBA player but he just hasn’t shown it yet.

Bayless said that James doesn’t initiate offense and has also been lacking when it comes to defense.

He has clearly been having trouble landing shots, although he could get into a rhythm before the regular season starts in a few months.

Many Lakers fans have been somewhat disappointed by James, but others aren’t too surprised to see him struggle.

After all, he was the 55th pick in the draft and someone that low in the draft usually doesn’t accomplish big things, at least not right away.

Of course, James wasn’t a typical 55th pick and he is earning a lot more attention than other players in his position.

James’ season in college was marked by relatively low numbers but he was able to impress everyone during the NBA combine.

So does that mean he can improve his game over the next few months and play much better?

Bayless says James has the skills, he just isn’t showing them off but that could change soon.
