Back in 2004, the Boston Red Sox became the first team in MLB history to come back from a three-game deficit in the postseason, beating the New York Yankees in seven games and then going on to win the World Series.

Skip Bayless believes that NBA fans might be on the verge of seeing similar history be made.

On Twitter, Bayless claimed that the Dallas Mavericks are better than the Boston Celtics, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving are a strong duo, and Doncic will perform even better in Boston during Game 5.

Because of that, he thinks the Mavericks can be the first NBA team to come back from being down 0-3 in the Finals.

Bayless made this prediction late on Friday night after witnessing the Mavericks seize a commanding win over the Celtics.

The series is now 3-1 in Boston’s favor, but at least the Mavericks have a slim chance of winning.

No NBA team has ever come back from being down 0-3 in the postseason and there is no doubt that the Mavericks will have a very tough time being the first.

Despite their poor showing on Friday night, the Celtics are still clear favorites to win the series and championship.

If the Mavericks want to make history, they will have to play just like they did in Game 4, only in Boston against an opponent that is now more fired up than before.

They have their work cut out for them.

Bayless isn’t the only person who thinks Dallas could achieve such a stunning feat.

The number of people believing in them will only grow if they score a Game 5 win on Monday night.
