The Los Angeles Lakers have a lot on the line with their Wednesday night game against the Chicago Bulls.

LA is fighting hard to make the play-in games and they need to keep securing wins to make that happen.

They recently had a tough loss to the Bulls just days ago but Skip Bayless thinks they can bounce back in a big way.

On Undisputed, Bayless said the Lakers could be “making a statement” with their game against the Bulls.

He said that “LeBron loves to play in the building with MJ’s ghost lingering” and also noted that Anthony Davis could end up performing very well to give the team a much-needed victory.

The Lakers are favorites against the Bulls in Chicago despite a 10-point loss on Sunday:

Like many others, Bayless has liked the team a lot since their big moves at the NBA trade deadline.

The squad is younger, focused, and refreshed.

Yet, they still run the risk of missing the postseason entirely.

Multiple teams hold records that are very close to LA’s.

The Lakers are the ninth seed with a 37-38 record, while the Oklahoma City Thunder are tenth at 37-39 and the Dallas Mavericks are 11th at 37-39 as well.

All three teams play on Wednesday evening.

That means that if the Lakers lose and the Thunder and Mavericks win then they could slip to 11th spot – and out of play-in contention – in the blink of an eye.

This shows the sort of pressure that is on the team.

The Bulls have been playing well lately and have garnered a few impressive wins as they have also tried to redeem themselves and push into the postseason.

Therefore, both the Lakers and Bulls will be fighting harder than ever.

The consequences of this game will be very impactful for both teams.
