With all the fans, pundits, and even some current and former players complaining about load management, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver had no choice but to do something about it.

The league has now established a new policy to prevent teams from resting multiple healthy stars in games, once again sparking controversy.

Skip Bayless has been critical of load management in the past, but he doesn’t seem to be a fan of this new policy.

Bayless started his explanation by praising Michael Jordan for playing 80+ games 11 times in his career, stating that he was born to play basketball, unlike other players.

However, as much as he would like to see the best players night in and night out, he believes there’s no objective way of knowing whether a player is actually in pain or not, mostly because everybody has different pain thresholds, via “Undisputed.”

NBA adopts new rules for resting star players; @RealSkipBayless reacts:

“I can’t judge another man’s pain threshold. You can’t impose on an NBA player: ‘You’re not hurt, go play!’” pic.twitter.com/s0SjDwdC3s

He believes the league can’t simply impose itself and tell players to play through pain, which is why he’s not so sure about this new policy.

Even so, Bayless was critical of today’s “agent-driven” NBA in which players know they’ll get paid the same if they play half a season or a full season, but he doesn’t think this will be the solution to that.

Notably, it’s crazy to think that only star players get tired, hurt, or have to play through pain.

Role players are putting their bodies on the line as well, sometimes even literally, yet they don’t seem to manage their workloads, which raises suspicious on these stars sitting out when healthy.
